Fashion quote from Ruxandra of From Brussels with Love

Hey lovies!

Last month, we posted an interview we did with Petronela of My Butterfly. If you haven't read it yet, go check out.

Today, we've got another interview special just for you. We know that us, fashionistas, could really use some inspirations for days when we think our style juice has run out. In fact, we need fashion inspiration every now and then. A muse, per se.

And today, our muse is no other than the gorgeous woman behind the blog, From Brussels, With Love.

First off, can you start by telling us, especially our Lookbook Store fans, about yourself?

Hey there! My name is Ruxandra, and I'm the author behind From Brussels, with Love. Romanian by roots, I've been living in Brussels for almost 7 years now and I've been always passionate about fashion, shopping, trends, etc.

How long have you been blogging about styles and clothes?

I've been blogging for almost 4 years now.

What's the story behind From Brussels, With Love? What inspired you to start blogging about fashion?

Well, as I've always had a deep interest for fashion, so I thought a designer school could help me boost my knowledge. Thus I've enrolled at L'académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. That didn't go very well due to the fact that I wasn't doing what I've been dreaming (creating clothes), and the teachers were way too wacky so I quit.

That and the fact that I was following Dulce Candy (an American fashion/beauty blogger and YouTube guru), inspired me to start my own blog. I knew nothing at the time so it was quite difficult, but it seemed that what I was doing started inspiring people so I kept on doing it!

How would you define fashion?

Fashion is just a simple word to define the way we "translate" our feelings and thoughts into the things we wear.

How would you describe your personal style?

I think the word for it would be "diverse". I always love trying on new styles. Some fit me better than others, of course, but that's the charm to my blog. You never know what my next outfit will be!

Who are your biggest style inspirations?

I don't really follow a lot of people, but Rihanna is my favorite style inspiration. For her, I have the time ;)

What's the one fashion item you can't live without, and why?

My black YSL clutch that can complement  most of my outfits.

What's your go-to outfit when you can't think of anything to wear?

I never have that problem. Usually my outfits are for my daily routines so I can wear whatever I want. Now if it's an event that we're talking about, I dress according to it.

What's the most important style rule to live by?

Adopt trends and wear them with your own personal style.

What's your favorite piece to wear this season?

As much as I love fringes, I think this season will be all about laced-up tops, sweaters and bodysuits.

What advice can you give to those who just started fashion blogging?

Don't trade yourself for brand blogging and keep the blogger status as it should be -  true to yourself!

Her last words, 'Be true yourself,' couldn't ring any more truer. When it comes to fashion, ladies, always remember that it's a form of self-expression. Don't just follow the trends, create your own style because at the end of the day, it's your personal style that will truly matters.

And that's about it. Until next time!
